Most of their apparel is overpriced for what they’re actually offering and there are plenty of other options when you’re shopping for clothes so unless you want to show off that $100 plain white shirt with a Nike logo smaller than your nail, avoid this ridiculous rip-off.

Do the math. It’s easy to calculate value of your clothes of choice when you’re shopping. Simply think about how often you will be able to wear an item before you will eventually have to throw it away and consider if the price is worth it. For example, a $2000 suit might come in handy once or twice a year, and after you pack a few pounds more in a couple of years, you will eventually overgrow it, making it a few hundred dollars per wear, where a $5 shirt from a thrift shop, which you will be wearing multiple times a month will cost you pennies. So remember, even if you hated maths in college, it’s worth to invest a little bit of effort before you consider buying an expensive piece of clothing.

Consider thrift shops. There is some childish idea going around about thrift shops that only completely broke people visit them. Thrift shops offer a wide variety of simple, daily use clothing for ridiculously low prices. Even though looking for a right size might be hard at first, it’s worth investing time because it’s probably the best thing when you’re saving money on clothing and if you’re still feeling insecure, remember that no one will ever have a slightest idea that your clothes are used unless you tell them first.

Don’t cheap out on clothes with logos. It might seem weird that we suggest that you pay more when the article is about saving cash, but don’t leave me yet. We’d rather have you avoid clothes with images or huge text on them at all, and not only because stylists and fashion couchers tell you so. If you’re saving on money, it’s only natural that you will go for cheaper clothes, but here’s the trick – cheap materials last less. While stating the obvious we do not necessarily refer to cotton or any other material, but instead the material that all the fancy text and images on most of the shirts these days have. We have no idea what it’s made of, but from what we can tell, cheap versions of it wash off after two or three washes, leaving you with something looking like a Leonardo DiCaprio in his Oscar winning movie, right after meeting with the friendly bear for a couple of hugs – scraps everywhere, you get the point. So if you’re really into cool shirts, we’d suggest paying a little more to avoid throwing it out in the near future.

Shop smartly. Finally, when you go out shopping, keep an eye out for clothing and accessories that fit into a lot of outfits. A simple wristband can add a lot of character to any outfit without emptying your wallet. Accessories are an easy way to expand your outfit options without much effort. Also, color choices can be major when you’re saving cash. Any black or grey sweater will go well with almost anything, whereas a lime green shirt stands out and will end up being a floor cleaning rag. We’re not saying you should avoid colors and wear the same plain white shirt every day, by any means be as unique with your outfit as you want, but always chose your clothes considering the future.

Avoid brand names. There is nothing worse than buying expensive clothes just because their brand is famous when you’re famous.
