History
Two brothers, Almore and Len Aaron, both of whom joined the Armed Forces for World War II, founded this company in 1946. Each were stationed in different locations, one in the Hal Roach Studios with Commanding Officer Ronald Reagan and the other in Anchorage, Alaska were he was in charge of a photo studio. Upon their return from their duties, the brothers moved to Hollywood, California where they opened a photography studio. It was from their photography studio that came their innovative idea to start selling frames for their photographs, as they were just collecting dust in drawers. They opened their first frame shop and from there continued to opening 16 more shops and by the 1960s, the Aaron Brothers became recognized as the “framer to the stars”.
In 1969, the Aaron Brothers introduced art supplies to their inventory. They sold products for artwork like decoupage, batik, pottery, candle making, and naturally, painting. By the 1970s, they were mass marketing quality prints and paintings. And today, with more than 160 stores across the nation, Aaron Brothers is one of the most highly recognized shops for capturing creativity and displaying memorabilia.
