Most of people call calzone a pizza or just put it in a pizza category, but calzone and pizza are not the same. Pizza market is crowded and many restaurants offer it, but calzones are so much different and not many people make it and sell it. So, if you want to try out a great calzone, there are not as many places to go to as if you would like to go out and eat pizza. Because of that DP Dough is really unique, because it offers something that not many places can offer.
The idea of DP Dough was created in 1980s by Dan and Penny, a son and a mother. The name, DP Dough was created after their initials and not long after that started standing for the best calzone restaurant out there. When Dan came up with this idea, he was still in college, so this really changed his college life forever. The first DP Dough restaurant was opened in 1987 and since then, it is loved by customers and college students throughout United States.
Because DP Dough is serving college students, it has to do everything to make them happy. One of such things is to be able to serve them food when they really want it and because these are college students, of course they will want to eat when it is crazy late. DP Dough is open whenever you feel hungry and it is open even after all the bars are close.
Also, because the completion is not that high, many restaurants settle for cheaper products to make their calzones, because the customers will not know the difference anyways. But DP Dough is not one of those places and they use the best products out there, to create something that is delicious. Why? Because they respect their customers and want them to fall in love with calzones as they love them themselves.
