VRBO, or Vacation Rental By Owner, was established in 1995 by David and Lynn Clouse. They created the brand after struggling to advertise the fact that their ski condo was available for hire. Property owners can choose between annual fees, starting at $349, which is ideal for those who rent all year round or they can pay no fee but 10% of all bookings made is paid to VRBO. This payment method is recommended for those who rent for less than 6 weeks per year.
