In 1918 C.N. Williamson and E.E. ‘Colonel’ Dickie established the U.S. Overall Company in Texas along with a few friends. In 1922 C. Don Williamson joined the company, with his father and cousin. They purchased 100% of the company and divided ownership equally between them. They renamed the organisation Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Company’.
Surviving the Great Depression, Dickies grew steadily. During WWII the company was tasked with producing uniforms for service men. Following the war Dickies concentrated on expansion, they opened production facilities and sales territories across the United States.
