Tim Horton’s Inc is one of the biggest Canadian multinational fast casual restaurants which is famous for its coffee and doughnuts. It was founded in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario by Canadian ice hockey player Tim Horton and Gim Charade. It started it journey as a Ham Burger restaurant but now its established as a multi-million dollar fast restaurant chain. The chain now has 3665 restaurants in Canada, 865 in the United States and 56 in the Persian Gulf Region, according to the survey in September, 2014.

Since the beginning, Tim Horton venture spread rapidly and eventually overtook another giant food chain McDonalds. Tim Horton’s first store opened in 17th May, 1964 under the name of “Tim Horton Donuts” and later it was changed to just “Tim Horton’s”. In 1967 Tim Horton became business partner with Ron Joyce, a police constable. After the death of Tim, Ron Joyce aggressive expansion brought huge changes to the Canadian coffee and doughnuts restaurants market and as a consequence of this many small doughnuts shops and small chains were driven out of business. After all the ups and downs, in August 26, 2014, Tim Horton’s chains became a subsidiary of holding company as Burger King agreed to purchase it. Now majority of the Tim Horton’s shares are owned by Brazilian investment firm 3G Capital.
