1920 saw Deseret Sunday School Union and the Desert News Bookstore combining to become Deseret Book Company where the Deseret Sunday School Union held 30% and Deseret News had 70%. The bookstore began focusing mainly on Sunday school needs like lesson manuals in the ‘30s and in the ‘40s, Deseret Book founded Deseret Film Productions where the first film produced was Where the Saints have “Trod.”
