TCBY stands for The Country’s Best Yogurt (formerly This Can’t Be Yogurt) is an US based chain restaurant for frozen yogurt. In 1982, this chain was founded at Little Rock, a nice and popular city in Arkansas and now it’s headquarter is based in Broomfield, Colorado. It is one of the largest and popular retailers of soft-serve frozen yogurt with variety of toppings, colour and flavours.
History
The first TCBY store opened at 1981 by the founder Frank D Hickingbotham and since then its business was flourishing and crossed the border of USA. Now it is operating in 470 locations and three continents around the globe. In 1984 they changed the name from “This Can’t Be Yogurt” to “The Country’s Best Yogurt” because of a law suits. Mrs Fields acquired TCBY in 2000 and became Mrs Fields famous Brands. In summer 2010, TCBY opened a new prototype store in Salt Lake City, Utah, operating under a different business model. In 2011, TCBY opened its first shop in Pakistan.
Products and Promotions
Instead of mixing yogurt with toppings for you, TCBY let the customer to serve them using any combinations of available yogurt flavours, add their fruit mix or candy toppings and pay by the ounce. TCBY offers hundreds of frozen yogurt in different flavours. This restaurant chain used to serve hard scooped and soft serve yogurt but the new concept only focusing on the soft one.
